NEWS \\ Alfa Mist drops new single ‘Retainer’ and announces new album

6th March 2019

Alfa Mist has just revealed his single ‘Retainer’, the first track to come from his new album this April.

‘Retainer’ is the first single we’ve heard from pianist, producer and composer Alfa Mist in a little while, following his collaboration with Yussef Dayes and his debut album, ‘Antiphon’. On this contemplative track, Alfa Mist leads with Rhodes, proceeded by a string section and electric guitar solo. It’s initially calm, leading to a crescendo of ideas.

The album, ‘Structuralism’, features Jordan Rakei and Kaya Thomas-Dyke – who is also the cover artist. Exploring Alfa Mist’s battles with the self and societal pressures, the eight track record will be released on 26 April via Sekito.
